Pupils at a Great Yarmouth primary school have been getting on their bikes with the help of a professional cycling coach.
Reception pupils at Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy have been taught the basics under the careful instruction of the coach, practicing balancing skills by weaving in and out of cones and working up to cycling without stabilisers.
The sessions are being delivered by Tri-A-Sport Coaching, a social enterprise based in Norwich which aims to increase opportunities for all children and young people in Norfolk and Suffolk by organising alternative sporting activities and events at schools.
Dawn Kightley, principal of Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy, said: “Teaching life skills is such an important part of what we do here at Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy and I’m so proud of the enthusiasm our pupils have shown.
“I hope we are encouraging some future Victoria Pendletons and Chris Hoys among them.”
