CASH was stolen from an elderly woman during a distraction burglary in Yarmouth on Friday.A man called at a home in Malakoff Close at about 4pm and told the 80-year-old homeowner that he was in the area testing the electrics.

CASH was stolen from an elderly woman during a distraction burglary in Yarmouth on Friday.

A man called at a home in Malakoff Close at about 4pm and told the 80-year-old homeowner that he was in the area testing the electrics. He got into the property and asked the woman to stay in various rooms while he conducted some tests. He then left the property walking towards Havelock Road. The following day the woman discovered that a quantity of cash had been stolen.

The man is described as white, in his 40s to 50s, with grey thinning short cropped hair, of broad build, around 5ft-5ft 1ins tall and was wearing a light blue short sleeved shirt and grey or blue trousers.
