A school girl has lost eight inches of her hair to give a massive funding boost to a children’s charity.

Elisha McGlave, 12 and from Ormesby, had her hair cut to raise funds for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children and young adults up to the age of 24 that have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

The Flegg High School pupil donated her hair to the charity and also raised more than £1,400 in sponsorship for the charity.

Her mother Tania McGlave, said: “Our daughter Elisha has had eight inches of hair cut off by her auntie Emma at Cuts AbovEm for the Little Princess Trust.

“She has raised £1,448.07 and has donated her hair to such a wonderful charity for children who have had cancer or other illnesses.

“We are all so proud of her for giving such an amazing gift.”
