Television cameras were filming in Great Yarmouth yesterday as the hit Channel Four programme Embarrassing Bodies came to town.

Dr Christian Jessen and Dr Pixie McKenna were on the resort's seafront to provide medical advice to people with worrying health problems.

Based in a mobile doctor's surgery the two doctors were on hand to reassure people and provide them with practical help.

Dr Jessen and Dr McKenna were also filmed explaining the risks of smoking and how to avoid getting sweaty feet.

To illustrate the danger of smoking Dr Jessen showed off a bottle of tar.

The makers of Embarrassing Bodies hope the Yarmouth shot will encourage more people to overcome any fears they have and visit their own doctors.

The results of the filming by the Sealife Centre on Marine Parade will be shown in the fourth series of Embarrassing Bodies which is due to be broadcast at the tail end of the year or early in 2011.

In between filming Dr Jessen told the Mercury: “I think it is great to see people coming here today and being willing to talk about any problems they may have.

“I am still amazed how long people wait to see a doctor.”

It is the second time that Embarrassing Bodies has been to Norfolk as it visited Norwich for its first series.

Saturday's filming was also another feather in Yarmouth's media cap as Gok's Fashion Fix, Three in a Bed and Undercover Boss were all filmed in the town in recent months.
