A 63-year-old Bradwell man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after stealing more than 60,000 from his Gorleston employers.

Kenneth Turrell, of Lapwing Close, Bradwell, stole 64,280 from Darby and Liffen Independent Estate Agents during a period of nearly five years from September 2005 to April this year.

He pleaded guilty to theft and appeared at Norwich Crown Court for sentencing on October 28.

Suspicions were raised after staff noticed discrepancies in the accounts prompting an investigation by Great Yarmouth police.

As well as the prison sentence, Turrell was also ordered to pay back the stolen cash.
