Events will aid cancer centre
A SERIES of fundraising events have been organised over a two week period to raise money for the Sandra Chapman Centre at James Paget University Hospital.
A SERIES of fundraising events have been organised over a two week period to raise money for the Sandra Chapman Centre at James Paget University Hospital.
The fortnight of fun is taking place at Cobholm Community Centre and will start with a quiz night at the centre next Friday. The cost of entry is �1 per person for a team of four and the evening starts at 8pm.
This will be followed the next day by a jumble sale and barbecue between 2pm and 4pm. Admission is free.
The following Friday, June 19, there will be a tea dance in the evening between 7.30pm and 10.30pm. Tickets cost �5 including refreshments.
The final event will be on Saturday June 27 when there will be a family social evening starting at 7.30pm. The cost of entry is �2 for adults while accompanied children are free.
The Sandra Chapman Centre specialises in treating cancer victims.

Karen Lovejoy, the centre's secretary, said: “We decided to raise money for the centre because many members of our community are terminally ill with cancer and are being supported by the Sandra Chapman Centre.”
