STARDOM beckons for five-year-old Ormesby girl Evie Fabian after a poster with her picture was placed in the shop window of Great Yarmouth's Next store.

The youngster and her mother Jodie, 34, visited the shop on the Gapton Hall industrial estate on Wednesday to see the poster of Evie jumping for joy among a group of children.

The starring role on the poster, which will go to all stores nationwide, was Evie's reward for reaching the final of the Next Generation children's competition.

She initially saw the poster by chance on Monday when her mum drove past.

Jodie said: “She was very excited. We saw it just by luck because we did not think it was going up so soon. We did a detour to have a look at the picture and we also had a glimpse of it beforehand because the poster was put up on Next's website.”

The photo shoot took place in Birmingham in January when she was snapped with the 12 other finalists.

As well as having her picture taken, the Ormesby Infant School pupil also received a contract with modelling agency Urban Angels, plus 100 of Next vouchers.

Following the shoot, she took part in a fashion show in which the children modelled the fashion retailer's range to 800 Next staff from across Europe.

The youngster may get other modelling opportunities through Urban Angels after beating off competition from 28,000 participants to reach the Next final.
