Moorlands Primary School in Belton had an extremely exciting and busy time last week.

Some of its pupils went on a residential activity holiday to Grantham, with the remaining Years 5/6 spending the week studying China in a Chinese themed week.

Tony Ogogo from Nigeria spent last Thursday with Mrs Hills, Mrs Larwood and Mrs Rowland's classes. They had a fantastic time making African clay masks, tie-dying and hearing traditional African stories like, How the tortoise got a curve on its shell? During assembly lots of drumming, singing and dancing echoed through the corridors, with every member of the school joining in, even the headteacher! During the same afternoon Dinah Johnson MP and Tony Wright MP visited and met representatives from each class where they talked about school life, and the MPs were questioned.

Year 5/6 pupils who attended PGL in Grantham last week really had a time to remember. They took part in many activities such as: low rope, high rope, giant swing, quad bking, riffle shooting, kayaking, orienteering, fencing, Jacobs ladder and abseiling. These activities were enjoyed with lots of enthusiasm and perhaps a little trepidation too.
