Ritson Lodge Nursing Home in Hopton is holding a family fun day event on Sunday, February 4.

It will have various stalls, a magician, balloon modelling, a chocolate fountain supplied by Suffolk Chocolate Fountains, a Punch and Judy show, the Faye Dance School performing, a raffle and competitions.

This event is being held for World Cancer Day, an international day marked on this date to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.

It was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control to support the goals of the world cancer declaration, written in 2008.

All money raised from the family fun day will be donated to Make a Wish, a foundation that exists to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

The family fun day at the Lowestoft Road home runs from 10am to 4pm.
