A recent Family History Day at Winterton Church was a great success. Two tours were conducted around the churchyard by “The Winterton Story” author, David Higgins, who explained the background of the families named on the gravestones, along with a wealth of other information about Winterton's history.
A recent Family History Day at Winterton Church was a great success. Two tours were conducted around the churchyard by “The Winterton Story” author, David Higgins, who explained the background of the families named on the gravestones, along with a wealth of other information about Winterton's history. There were also old records on display from the church and the school. Lots of local and not-so-local people attended and some asked for advice on researching their own family histories. A total of over �240 was raised for church funds. A vote of thanks has gone to Sandra Laws who worked hard to organise the day along with Janet Rowe and all those who helped out on the day.
