ACTOR Richard E Grant may have complained about the chilly Great Yarmouth when he made the movie Cuckoo last winter, but he may need sunglasses, and possibly even shorts, when the movie is released at a film festival this summer.
Richard Bracewell, the Norwich-based director of the taut psychological thriller, aims to launch the film at one of several festivals to be held in Britain in a few months' time.
The final editing touches are now being completed on Cuckoo, which tells the story of pretty medical student Polly, played by Laura Fraser, who slowly thinks she is going mad as she starts to suspect that her sister, boyfriend and boss are conspiring against her.
Parts of the independent film were shot in Yarmouth in December 2007 in a warehouse, which had been made over as a laboratory and a London flat. For his role of Polly's creepy boss, Grant was aged 10 years by make-up artists and as he rehearsed his scenes he was heard to moan about the chilly Yarmouth winds.
Parts of the film, which also features Tamsin Greig, were also shot a Norwich fireworks party, a city bar and Yarmouth's Hippodrome.
