A team took ten minutes using fire extinguishers to put out rubbish that had been set alight in the marram grass in the dunes at Caister just after 4.30pm.
In an unrelated act of arson, at 12.30am firemen from Great Yarmouth were called to Suffolk Road, Gorleston but the fire, which was in a bin in a play park, had gone out before they could reach it.
