A FIREFIGHTER needed hospital treatment for a broken thumb, a suspected broken foot and injuries to his knee after concrete fell on him while he was battling a blaze in Deneside, Yarmouth.
Fire investigators are treating the blaze, which swept through a partially demolished property being converted into flats, as possible arson, but could not carry out an investigation on Friday because the building was left in a dangerous state.
Two crews were called to the site shortly after midnight the same day, but after finding the blaze had taken hold, reinforcements were called from Gorleston and Martham.
A hydraulic platform was used to fight the fire and one crew was still on scene at 4am.
