A number of customers have signed up with Great Yarmouth's 80m outer harbour at EastPort UK, which is expected to open this month, it was reported this week.

Port group PSA International, grain business Gleadell Agricultural and crushed rock supplier Stema Shipping have all agreed to a long-term commitment to the multi-purpose harbour. The outer harbour is designed to boost operations, increasing capacity and the range of activities offered in addition to Yarmouth which is the principal port in England for offshore support.

The outer harbour is said to be well placed to serve the East Anglia Array windfarm development off Yarmouth, according to logisticsmanager.com. It is also the closest deep sea port to mainland Europe.
