A group of cyclists from the Great Yarmouth area have raised more than £6,000 for a military families charity.
The eight friends went on a 300 mile bike ride across European First World War battle grounds in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
It supports children and young people who have lost a parent while serving in the armed forces and has a holiday home at Haven Seashore Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth.
The team, called Ypres to Yarmouth #Y2Y, set off from the Menin Gate in Belgium and made their back to Yarmouth.
It saw them raise more than £5,000 on the group’s Justgiving fundraising page with other donations rolling in.
Support driver Kevin Huggins said: “There were nine Norfolk families with children that have lost a parent while serving our country, unfortunately over our journey we found out that became 10.
“The good news however is that all 10 families, with our money raised, will be able to have a holiday this year at Seashore.”
