From haunted houses to spooktacular shows, it is all happening in and around the Great Yarmouth borough this Halloween.

Whether it is a night of frights or a more child friendly experience, here are five ways you can enjoy Halloween this year and have a fangtastic experience.

1) What? Halloween Spooktacular

Where? The Hippodrome.

When? October 18 to 31st.

Who is it suitable for? Families.

What is it? A Halloween show which has been written by comedy partnership Jack Jay and Johnny Mac. They return to the Hippodrome for a perilous night at the Haunted Museum. There will be all manner of ghosts, ghouls monsters and crazy goings on. Joining them will be world class circus performers entertaining crowds with breathtaking stunts in the specially created museum set which will bring the action closer than ever.

2) What? Murder Mystery Night

Where? The Imperial Hotel, Great Yarmouth.

When? Saturday, November 3.

Who is it suitable for? Adults.

What is it? A fun Halloween-themed dinner experience with a murder mystery to solve. Guests have a choice of a one or two nights stay and a package which includes spooky extras such as a guided Halloween-themed Heritage Walk in Yarmouth.

How much? Room rates start from £100 per person for a classic room with the Murder Mystery dinner, a night’s stay and a full English breakfast. Other rooms and packages are available.

3) What? Halloween wicked woodland

Where? Fairhaven Woodland and Water garden, South Walsham.

When? Wednesday, October 31.

Who is it suitable for? Families.

What is it? A wicked woodland where guests will be treated to electrifying live music, cheesily cheerful children’s entertainers and devilishly good food stalls.

How much? Children £5.50 and adults £9.50.

4) What? Ascarium

Where? Sea Life centre, Great Yarmouth.

When? October 20 to November 4.

Who is it suitable for? Families.

What is it? Visitors can embark on an ascarium adventure by taking a step into the creepy deep at Sea Life. Five potion ingredients will be hidden in tanks throughout the ascarium, and guests will need to find them before making their way to the sea witch’s lair. Once all of the items have been located, the sea witch will cast her spell and open the treasure chest. Those who successfully navigate the trail will be rewarded with a reusable Ascarium cup. Sea Life is also running a competition to give one lucky family a trip to Alton Towers – more information can be found by speaking to a team member.

How much? General admission is £11.62 with under 3s going for free. Discounted rates for groups, schools and birthday parties are also available.

5) What? Halloween Hoot

Where? Hirsty’s Family Fun Park, Hemsby.

When? October 18 to October 28.

Who is it suitable for? Families.

What is it? Guests can carefully select their pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, wheel it back to the carving tent and start creating their own masterpieces. Every child gets a pumpkin and spooky lantern making kit. There are also other craft activities to enjoy as well as the funpark.

How much? £5 to £10.
