A large congregation attended the farewell evensong for the Rev Canon Chris Terry’s retirement at St Nicholas Minster, Great Yarmouth today (September 18).

Attending were the Dean of Norwich Cathedral, the Rt Rev Jane Hedges, the Mayor and Mayoress of Great Yarmouth, Cllr and Mrs Malcolm Bird, the Deputy Mayoress, Cllr Shirley Weymouth, friends from the diocese and Yarmouth Deanery as well as members of the churches in Yarmouth, Gorleston and Caister.

Also present were Great Yarmouth Youth Brass. Following the service presentations were made to Fr Chris and for his wife Jane.

Speeches were given by the dean on behalf of the Norwich Cathedral Chapter and David Pearson, lay chairperson of Great Yarmouth PCC.

A buffet was prepared and served by the chef and volunteers of the Pathway Cafe with wines and soft drinks served by Dr Paul Davies.
