THE World Cup was under way locally even before a ball was kicked in anger in South Africa. And it was former Norwich City player and ambassador Jeremy Goss who took control of the World Cup Table Football contest staged by accountants and business advisers PKF, which has an office in Great Yarmouth.
THE World Cup was under way locally even before a ball was kicked in anger in South Africa. And it was former Norwich City player and ambassador Jeremy Goss who took control of the World Cup Table Football contest staged by accountants and business advisers PKF, which has an office in Great Yarmouth.
Around 70 players from the company and their guests took part in the competition, representing teams in the real event. Perhaps it was an omen that the Ivory Coast beat Spain in the final.
It was not too taxing for the accountants who were quick to profit from mistakes by their visitors. But the figure that really counted on the night was funds raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
PKF partner Michael Muskett said: “We thought it was a fun way to get into the spirit of the World Cup and delighted that Jeremy Goss brought along his expertise to referee. Now, as accountants, we'll all be hoping England come up with the right results.”
