Long-time Acle resident and community stalwart Norman Pryor’s first job on leaving Acle school at the age of 15 Acle residentin 1949 was to work at the Acle Co-op then located opposite the village’s Barclays Bank.
And so he was the natural choice to cut the tape opening at the brand new Co-op store situated on the former Budgen’s site.
Norman performed the official ceremony on the Thursday evening, the day before it opened to the public the following day, May 26.
