A singing club has started up in the heart of Great Yarmouth, offering free sessions for 11-18 year olds on Wednesday evenings.

Youth Voices is a fun social singing group offering young people the chance to improve their vocals and music skills, grow in confidence and make friends.

Led by singing teacher and recording artist Sam Coe, of Norwich’s The Wharf Academy, it runs in two sessions on Wednesdays through term time and been funded by arts funding body YouthMusic.

Junior Youth Voices (11-15 years) meet in the front entrance of St Nicholas’ Priory School building at 4.30pm and runs for an hour (finishing with a snack break) then Youth Voices (15-18 years) starts at 5.30pm, which also uses the Priory’s School Hall, entering from St Nicholas Road and finishes at 6.30pm.

The grant, which was obtained as part of Great Yarmouth Minster’s community music project and is also supported by St Nicholas Priory School, initially runs for two years, and also supports morning singing activities for younger children. Sam Coe also leads several other choirs in the area including a local adult choir and schools music sessions.
