Great Yarmouth Library is handing out free sanitary products to women who can not afford them.
The scheme is called The Tricky Period and is run by Norfolk County Council’s library department.
Women can pick up an order form from the library in Tolhouse Street and tick the products they need, with up to two boxes worth of items able to be handed out.
They then hand the form in and staff will give the items they need on the spot, with no questions asked and no proof needed.
People are also asked to support the scheme by making donations.
The library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am and 5pm and on Wednesday between 9am and 7.30pm and Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
In September last year the scheme was launched at Norwich libraries by the council’s library team. Community librarian Caroline Varney-Bowers is behind the project.
