“DOING something for someone else,” is something which which is part of the guides' creed, and the 1st Freethorpe Guide group recently showed they are a shining example.

The youngsters recently handed over a cheque to Freethorpe First Responders for £200, approximately half the money raised through a “bag pack,” with the rest going to boost guide funds.

Leader Dawn George said: “The bag pack is voluntary and forms part of the girls work towards their Year Challenge Badge, which is “take part in a community activity that involves doing something for someone else.”

She added: “We decided as a guide group that we wanted to donate to the Responders as they carry out valuable work in the local community and we want to support them with this.”
