Freeview viewers in Norfolk and north Suffolk advised to retune

Freeview viewers in Norfolk and north Suffolk are being advised to retune their TV equipment this week to make sure they keep receiving a complete channel list including services from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

On Wednesday (June 6) engineers will be carrying out improvements to the main transmitter in Tacolneston, near Long Stratton which serves around 40,000 homes across Norfolk.

The engineering works are part of a series of nationwide improvements to transmitters up and down the country designed to make way for 5G mobile phone signals.

The works will begin shortly after midnight on June, 6 and are likely to affect Freeview services until 6am, after this time viewers in the area may need to retune their equipment to make sure they can still access all channels.

Viewers will be prompted to make the changes by Freeview advertising and on-screen messages.

Satellite and cable TV should not be affected, but the retune will apply to pay-TV services from YouView, BT TV, TalkTalk TV, EE and Now TV.
