More than a thousand people are expected to descend on a Broadland pub on Sunday to join in a day of fundraising family fun.The Belton Tavern, in Belton will be holding is third free fun day in its large grounds from 1pm to 8pm.

More than a thousand people are expected to descend on a Broadland pub on Sunday to join in a day of fundraising family fun.

The Belton Tavern, in Belton will be holding is third free fun day in its large grounds from 1pm to 8pm.

As well as trampolines, face painting, swing boats, barbecue and a beat the buzzer quiz, there will be a chance to meet three of the area's next generation of sports stars.

Talented swimmers Stephanie Bird, 21, and Jessica-Jane Applegate, 13, and 15-year-old kick boxing champion Cameron McGarrigle will open the fun day.

They will also be showing off their wide range of regional, UK and European medals, trophies and belts.

Money raised from the day will be shared among Yarmouth's Smart Kids autistic centre, the Belton with Browston Youth Group and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital maternity ward.

Last year the Belton Tavern held two family fun days in which �4,500 was raised in aid of Aidan Forster who has cerebral palsy and West Syndrome and Luke Hopes who had a brain tumour.

Events co-ordinator Ian Walker said he hoped that at least 1,500 people may attend Sunday's fun at the pub off Station Road South.

He said: “This year's free event is set to be bigger and better that any other event held at the Belton Tavern. If the weather is like today it will absolutely perfect.

“We would like to see lots of support which will see our local groups benefit greatly.”

The fun day also includes a tombola, cake stall, a large raffle and music from seven bands. From 8pm a night of karaoke fun will be held in the pub.
