Belton fundraisers celebrated the end of their first years fundraising at the monthly John Green Institute coffee morning in April when they presented grants to four local groups.

The fundraisers, a follow on to the Friends of the JGI, raised over £2,200 to the end of January, mainly from the bargain stall at the monthly coffee mornings and the mammoth sales also held in the JGI.

Chairman Jack Fuller presented cheques of £300 each to the Rev Rosie Bunn for Belton Church, Richard Ashling for Belton Cricket Club, to Beaver Scout Luke and Cub Harry for the 1st Belton Scout Group and £500 to Angie Buxton-King of the East Coast Hospice. All the recipients thanked the fundraisers for their efforts.

The chairman announced that there would be a further presentation to the JGI hall trustees on the anniversary of the hall’s re-opening in September.
