DONATIONS from a garden sale have helped the fundraising pot for a new respite care centre at the James Paget University Hospital to grow.

The Paul Cole Cancer Fund raised �291.75 for the Palliative Care East appeal at a garden sale at Brenda and Tony Lincoln's house in Meadow Way, Carlton Colville.

A further garden sale will be held in Grand Avenue, Pakefield, on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30, 9am-1pm with all proceeds going to the appeal.

The appeal has also received �275 from a raffle held at a Summer Line Dance Party at Carlton Colville Community Centre on July 30. For class details, call Norma on 01502-562953.

The money will go to the appeal to raise �1.5m for a new day centre in the hospital's grounds for people with terminal illnesses.

From August 28-30, St Benet's Minister Flower Festival in St Mary's Road, Beccles. Entry is free, refreshments. Donations welcome.

On September 8, an antiques gala and organ recital at St Nicholas Church in Great Yarmouth. Tickets cost �10, including buffet.
