Junk modelling, dressing up and a puppet show are among fun activities helping parents and children get into the swing of a Playday on Wednesday.
Organised as part of a national scheme Great Yarmouth's Playday is at St Nicholas Recreation Ground opposite the Pleasure Beach between 11am and 3.30pm.
Youngsters will be trialling large plastic pieces of kit as well as enjoying fun with giant cardboard boxes.
Play development worker Adrian Barnes said: “It's the first time we have celebrated Playday in Great Yarmouth, and it seemed the perfect occasion to get lots of young people to tell us what they think of the new play equipment that we are considering investing in.
“There will be lots of opportunities for the children to take part in all kinds of other pursuits as well, such as dressing up, a puppet show, building a den, making models from junk or even discovering what fun a huge cardboard box can be.”
The event is being organised as part of Great Yarmouth Borough Council's Big Lottery funded play development project. Children must be with an adult.
