Ghoul guru Ian John Shillito, former psychic on Living TV's Most Haunted and founder of London Paranormal, is organising the hunt as part of a nationwide programme of events aimed at supporting historic properties, local history and community through ghost-themed activities.
He and his team are giving intrepid ghost hunters a unique chance to descend on the Tolhouse in the hope that they too witness supernatural activity between 9pm and 4am.
Once a former medieval merchant's house, the Tolhouse was the home of the civil government in Yarmouth for nearly six centuries. From as early as 1306, the court met at the Tolhouse.
Many criminals were incarcerated at the gaol before public execution. In 1875, conditions at the Tolhouse were thought to be too dire to hold long term prisoners and it finally closed in 1880. It now runs as a museum.
