A friend of a 13-year-old girl who was alleged to have been sexually assaulted by a Norfolk hospital doctor, yesterday told a jury how the girl appeared upset and in tears after leaving the examination room.
Rashid Sandhu, 30, an accident and emergency doctor at the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, is alleged to have told the girl she needed an abortion after falsely telling her that tests showed she was pregnant, Norwich Crown Court heard.
The prosecution alleged that Sandhu, who has admitted having 170 pornographic images of children on his home computer, took his obsession to “another level” and got the girl to pose in the same way as one of the images before assaulting her.
Sandhu, who now lives in Kent, denies one count of sexual assault.
Giving evidence via video link, the girl told the court how she had gone to hospital with her 13-year-old friend as they both had stomach pains.
She said they were both examined by Sandhu and given tablets but he later phoned and asked if they would both go back.

She said she decided against any further treatment but her friend went into the room with Sandhu. She said that, after the examination, the girl had run out of the room in tears, saying that he wanted to take pictures of her body.
She said she had been naked in the room and he had asked her questions about her sex life.
The case continues.
