A GLOSSY brochure promoting Great Yarmouth’s business and tourism potential has been launched to showcase the borough as a centre for innovation and holiday making.

The Industry Handbook and Directory highlights the area’s array of experience and expertise as well as the wide range of opportunities available for both new and existing businesses.

It also puts Great Yarmouth’s culture and heritage in the spotlight and showcases its “unique offer” of both leisure and industry.

The 88 page guide is produced by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and is used by the authority at trade shows, conference and meetings with potential investors. It is also mailed to around 1,000 destinations nationally and internationally.

Trevor Wainwright, portfolio holder for economic development, said: “The Industry Handbook is a fantastic way to promote the capabilities of our local companies and the opportunities presented by our great town.

“It showcases that we have world leaders in engineering, manufacturing and boat building, as well as a rich and diverse tourism offer.”

An A-Z of local businesses, including detailed maps of industrial areas in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, is also featured in the 2012/13 handbook, which will later be launched as an online guide.

Businesses can add and amend their details on the website, to ensure their information remains up to date for customers, by calling the economic development unit on 01493 846477 or by emailing econ.dev@great-yarmouth.gov.uk
