A couple celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary have raised £700 for the day unit that treated one of them for cancer.

Bob and Maureen Price, who grew up in Great Yarmouth and now live in Brundall, celebrated their anniversary with family and friends and asked for donations after experiencing the Weybourne Day Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital work first hand.

Mrs Price was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2017, and began an intensive course of chemotherapy on the Weybourne Day Unit.

She said: “Having benefitted from improvements to the ward, via the hospital charity we wanted to donate directly to the ward, where it makes a real difference to patients, for me something as simple as comfortable reclining chairs made the experience more bearable.”
