The A47 Beaufort Way roundabout in Gorleston is to be closed for five nights from Monday between 8pm and 6am for surface improvement and traffic light installation work

It is part of the scheme that started in January which has seen Highways England and Norfolk County Council say they are working together to improve conditions on the A47 near Gorleston with a programme of small scale improvements and resurfacing.

As well as the A47 being closed to through traffic, the overnight closures will mean that drivers will be unable to access the roundabout from Beaufort Way or Links Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Emergency Services under blue lights and scheduled bus services will be allowed through the closure.

The following diversions will be in place:

A47 closure route - A47 Lowestoft Rd, B1375 Gorleston Rd, A146 Bridge Rd, A146 Beccles Rd, A143 Yarmouth Rd, A143 Haddiscoe Dam, A143 Beccles Rd, A47 Lowestoft Rd.

B1534 Beaufort Way closure – B1534 Beaufort Way, A143 Beccles Rd, A47 Lowestoft Rd.

Links Rd closure – U61527 Links Rd, Yallop Ave, Marine Parade, Bridge Rd.

The closures will allow the roundabout, and short sections of the road leading to it, to be resurfaced. Traffic sensors for the traffic lights will also be installed, and white lines painted.
