A new date has been announced for a charity golf day in memory of a Norwich City goalkeeping legend.

The Sandy Kennon Charity Golf Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society was due to be held Monday, April 30 at Gorleston Golf Club, but had to be cancelled due to the weather.

It has been rescheduled to Monday, May 14

Kennon played 255 times for Norwich City, between March 1959 and November 1964, including featuring in the 1958-59 cup run. He lived with dementia.

It is anticipated that some of his former colleagues and some former players who featured more recently will be making an appearance.

The cost for a team of four is £140.

For an entry form and details email valerie.cadmore@alzheimers.org.uk or call the secretary at Gorleston Golf Club on 01493 661911 or at jane@gorlestongolfclub.co.uk

The Alzheimer’s Society is a chosen charity of the captain at Gorleston Golf Club, Martin Bullen and supports those living with dementia.
