Buses travelling through Gorleston will be diverted away from the High Street for the next two weeks, while works are carried out on the road’s sewer connections.

A 35m stretch of the high street will be worked on from today - Thursday, February 22 - close to the Duke Road junction and the new William Adams JD Wetherspoon pub.

Businesses remain open as usual.

The works are scheduled to carry on until Thursday, March 8, and during this time period the stretch of road will be closed to traffic.

Bus services which normally use this road will be diverted around the closure, making use of temporary stops instead.

A statement from First Group Norfolk said: “Due to the closure of part of Gorleston High Street for various works, all buses will be diverted for up to two weeks.

“Buses will call at temporary stops on Church Lane and Church Road, instead of the High Street.”
