A 23-year-old man has been charged after a walk-in burglary at a home at Alexandra Avenue in Great Yarmouth.

A bag was stolen from the home between midnight and 1am yesterday, Thursday, April 19, and officers immediately attended the area to try to trace the burglar.

Kane Platten, of New College Close in Gorleston, was arrested by police a short time later and he was taken into custody at the town’s Police Investigation Centre, where he was interviewed by officers.

He was subsequently charged with burglary and possession of cannabis and is now due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court this morning.
