Two burglars were scared off when the occupant of a Gorleston home they had entered shouted at them.

The break-in happened in Beccles Road between 1.15am and 2.10am on Monday.

Police say the occupant woke up to find two men inside the property. The men made off when the occupant shouted at them.

The incident is being linked to a burglary of a property in Humberstone Road in the town. The property was entered between 10.30pm on Sunday and 9am on Monday and five Disney ornaments were stolen.

Officers appealing for anyone who may have any CCTV or dash-cam footage of anyone acting suspiciously in those areas between the times stated to come forward.

A man, aged in his 30s and from Derbyshire, has been arrested in connection with the incidents. He was released under investigation while enquiries are on-going.
