A bicycle thief has struck at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.

The theft of the bicycle from a rack outside the hospital was reported to Norfolk police at about noon on Thursday.

Police say it appears a bolt cutter was used to remove the bike from the rack.

Police in Gorleston are investigating to see if other bicycles were also stolen from outside the hospital around the same time.

Officers are trawling through CCTV images and pursuing other lines of enquiry, and are asking anyone who may have filmed the reported theft on their mobile phones to contact them.

The theft comes as police across the borough of Yarmouth are also continuing an operation targeting moped thieves, with officers reminding people to make sure their vehicles are secured.

Anyone with information on the bike theft at the James Paget University Hospital should call Norfolk police on 101.
