Gorleston’s Seagulls Children’s Centre celebrates 50th birthday
CUDDLY teddy bears and their proverbial love of picnics helped a Gorleston nursery to celebrate 50 years of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.
The nursery, at Gorleston’s Seagulls Children’s Centre held a teddy bears’ picnic party to mark the golden occasion.
It was one of many nurseries managed by the charity holding events around the country, and to make it extra special they invited along Bertie Bear.
The nursery has 135 children on roll aged three months to five years and had a super turnout on the day.
More than 65 children attended the party along with their parents and carers and had fun playing teddy bear-themed games and singing teddy songs.
The winner of the free prize draw was Daisy Matthews, who won a teddy, and Mandy Wilkes was the winner of the main draw for a 50 gift card.
“The party was a great success,” said nursery manager, Mary Hamilton. “We had a sunny day which meant we could hold the party in our lovely garden area.”
