Ormiston Venture Academy in Gorleston raised a record number of donations for Great Yarmouth Foodbank on Lowestoft Road and All Saints Church in Belton.
Both foodbanks service the academy’s catchment area and every year the academy raises donations for them.
The event is organised by the Union of Venture Students, the representative body for students at Ormiston Venture Academy, who go out of their way every year to collect donations from students on the day when the academy hosts its Christmas Fair and Christmas dinner for students.
Students were allowed to wear a Christmas jumper for the day in exchange for a non-perishable food item, which would then be put towards the foodbank donation.
Head girl and head boy Tyler Munro and Cameron Hodds said: “We are so proud of how much all the staff and students at Ormiston Venture Academy have donated to the foodbanks this year and are really pleased we can support those in need, especially at this time of year.”
