Clerk to the Corporation Roger Sandall said the college needed experience and expertise from across the community within its board of governors.

“The corporation at Great Yarmouth College is responsible for the strategic direction of the college. The governing body and the executive team are united in ambition to drive the college to outstanding accreditation in due course.

“The corporation has looked carefully at its current composition, including background, skills and expertise of its members and is seeking to recruit governors over the next few months in at least one of the following fields, finance and law.”

Governors do not receive remuneration but expenses are paid.

“This is a real opportunity for local people to influence learning strategy and thinking and help create the environment for persons of all ages to enrich their knowledge and where appropriate enhance career prospects,” Mr Sandall said.
