After months of planning Great Yarmouth’s new air show is ready for take-off this weekend.
Tens of thousands of people along the Golden Mile will get a grandstand view of two afternoons of aerial action that should also give the town an economic boost.
Motorists heading the air show are being steered towards two large park-and-ride sites on the outskirts of the town. Signs will be in place on roads leading to the town – and some junctions, including Acle roundabout, will have marshals providing guidance.
The park and ride schemes are:
South – Beacon Park, Gorleston – for visitors from the south via the A143 from Fritton or A47 (formerly A12) from Hopton/ Lowestoft). Bus drop off – South Beach Parade.
North – Racecourse – for visitors using the A47 from Acle, A1064 through Filby, or A149 from Potter Heigham. Bus drop-off – Euston Road. Prices £10-18 depending on arrival and departure times.
Blue badge holders should book a blue badge holder space and indicate if a wheelchair space is needed on the bus.
All seafront car parks will be closed for the weekend – but there are 600 spaces, including Blue Badge slots, at Premium Parking locations at North Drive, South Beach Parade and Euston Road.
Premium Parking spaces are:
North Drive – 152 spaces plus eight blue badge
South Beach Parade (opposite Pleasure Beach Gardens) – 321 plus 22 blue badge
Euston Road – 90 plus eight blue badge
Cars must be parked by 10.30am and cannot leave until after the last display

Before and after the flying there are scores of stalls, stands, military displays and flight simulators to entertain the crowds. A Red Arrows simulator is one of the attractions along the Golden Mile.
Four special pop-up beach bars will be operating between the two piers and more than 40 stalls will be selling refreshments.
There are air experience flights and displays and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Red Arrows stalls.
At Gorleston cliffs there are stalls serving a range of food and drink.
