Police in Great Yarmouth are investigating an altercation on Suffolk Road which led to a woman in her 60s being assaulted.
It happened shortly before 8pm on Suffolk Road, when a man in his 30s has assaulted a man in his 40s. A woman in her 60s was also assaulted.
The male victim suffered serious injuries to his face and head whilst the female victim suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the James Paget Hospital for treatment.
The man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the assault and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was released from custody but remains under investigation while the enquiry continues.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault.
