Pints galore are enjoyed at Great Yarmouth beer and cider festival

Pints have been pulled in front of appreciative beer and cider lovers at a three day festival in a landmark Great Yarmouth building.
The Great Yarmouth Winter Beer and Cider Festival was held at St George’s Theatre between Friday night and this afternoon with five sessions.
It saw people enjoy more than 40 real ales, craft beers and ciders, with many coming from Norfolk and Suffolk’s growing number of micro brewers.
The crowds were also entertained by live music from headline acts the Uncalled Four and The Uninvited and other acts, such as singer Christy Bullen, lead singer of Norwich band Lightscape.
Town centre manager Jonathan Newman was delighted to see large numbers of people sampling all the various drinks on offer at the festival, now in its third year at the arts venue.
He said: “It has been very well received. The sessions have been quite busy. The festival has been very well received and the people that have come have really enjoyed themselves.
“Everyone has had a good time and it is a fantastic venue for us.”

Great Yarmouth brewers Lacons and Tombstone were represented at the festival as well as Adnams, Panther, Tindall, St Peters and Winters.
The festival is part of wide range of seasonal fun activities taking over the centre of Yarmouth.
On Saturday a Santa’s grotto and post office was set up in the Market Place by the Market Gates Shopping Centre.
There is also the real ice rink, which is open until November 2, and Wednesday late night shopping.
The annual Lantern Parade, from Christchurch to the Christmas tree in the Market Place, will take place on Wednesday, December 6, at 6pm.
There is a Civic Carol Service in the Minster on Monday, December 11, at 7pm.
The Minster will also be the venue for the annual Tree and Crib Festival from Friday, December 8 to Sunday, December 17, from 10am to 3pm (starting 11am on Sundays).
Tickets are £2 on the door. Children free-of- charge.
Mr Newman praised the collaborative approach of the town centre partnership, borough council and Market Gates Shopping Centre in organising the festive timetable of events.
