A Norfolk local authority has set its level of Council Tax, which will see a band D property in Great Yarmouth pay an extra £5 a year for their borough council services.
A full meeting of Great Yarmouth Borough Council has seen members approve a 3.3pc rise in Council Tax bills.
Most households in the borough are in the lowest bands so will pay less than £4 extra over the course of the year compared to 2017/18’s bills for services provided by the borough council.
The most vulnerable people in the borough will continue to be protected through the Council Tax Support Scheme, which the council has decided to keep at a maximum of 91.5pc of council tax liability.
The meeting at Great Yarmouth Town Hall also saw a balanced budget approved.
The council will now send out council tax information to households alerting them to the rise.
