One lucky groom enjoyed a perfect journey to marital bliss thanks to a charity auction supported by local Vauxhall retailer, Thurlow Nunn Great Yarmouth.
Jack Cushion was whisked to his wedding to bride Imy in a stylish brand new Vauxhall Cascada soft-top, after his mother Anne-Marie Battrick won the use of the all-seasons convertible for a weekend in a charity fundraiser.
The couple from Lowestoft were over the moon after Anne-Marie secured the top bid for the model at a charity ball and auction organised by Sara Poppy of the charity Topcats. The events raised £5,900 for three charities: Topcats, Ollie’s Heroes and the Warren School Association, which help sick and disabled children in the local area.
Anne-Marie said: “When I saw the use of a new Cascada as the main prize in the charity auction, I just had to bid, It was such a great gift to offer and an even better one to win. I’m so pleased I entered; not only did my family benefit personally, but it’s great to know that such worthwhile causes did too.
“Jack plus his younger brother and I thoroughly enjoyed travelling in true style to the wedding and will treasure the memory for years to come.”
Auction organiser Sara Poppy adds: “I’d like to say a big thank you to the team at Thurlow Nunn Great Yarmouth for putting up such a prize. As a local business, their support means a great deal to us and we really do appreciate their help. It was lovely to hear that the car was used for such a fantastic occasion.”
