ON GLORY TRAIL: A dancing duo made up of high school pupils has reached the grand final of an Essex talent contest.

Hypnotix is the name of street dance duo comprising Chantelle Deller, 13, from Barley Croft, Hemsby, who attends Flegg High School, and Chelsea Carter, 15, from Clarence Road, Gorleston, who is a Cliff Park High School pupil. The pair reached the last 40 from 175 of Essex’s Got Talent, to be held at the Civic Hall in Grays, Essex.

They will be competing in one half of the grand final played out on October 9 and 14 and are up against singers, bands, “beatboxers” and dancers of all ages including champion dance groups.

Chantelle’s mother, Liasa Deller, said: “It’s a great achievement to get this far.”

They first met and teamed up at the dance school Freestyle Dance Company in Lowestoft, and have been friends since.

They are passionate about dancing as a career choice and have competed in competitions in London, as well as finishing first in the Streetdance International Competition in Essex, in March.

Hypnotix will be performing at Hemsby Young People’s Group fundraiser, on September 28, from 6-9pm at Waters Lane, Hemsby, where they will also teach a dance routine to youngsters.
