The first anniversary of the Great Yarmouth Dementia Action Alliance is be recognised with an information event in the town featuring a former Norwich City manager.

On Thursday, July 19 a dementia awareness event will be held at the Acorn Centre in Regent Street from 11am to 3pm.

The alliance is a partnership of businesses, organizations and groups taking action to support those living with and or caring for those with dementia in the borough.

The event will be officially opened by Ken Brown who managed Norwich City from 1980 to 1987 and also played for West Ham between 1953 and 1967.

There will also be a presentation from Dr Ardyn Ross, clinical mental health lead for the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group.

The event will feature 30 supporting groups and organisations, live music and a raffle.

The event is free to enter and will help the goal of making Great Yarmouth a dementia friendly town.
