A department store in Great Yarmouth has presented a children’s charity with a £7,000 cheque.
Palmers presented East Coast Truckers with the cheque outside their store in the market place, having raised money for the charity for the past two years.
The charity supports disabled and disadvantaged children across East Anglia and is best known for its annual convoy on the August bank holiday, which sees around 80 trucks take children from County Hall in Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills, before parading along the seafront.
Chairman of the charity, Ian Mackie, said: “I am astounded with the amount of money they have raised for us and this will go a long way to helping us support children in the area.
“We have 500 children on our database so all the money we receive is gratefully appreciated by our hard-working volunteers.
“This will help pay for next year’s convoy as well as enabling us to continue to supply our holiday homes to children for one week every summer.”
