A Great Yarmouth man has held onto his licence despite failing to stop at the scene of a head-on road collision.
Christopher Combes was sentenced at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on July 2, and was given eight points on his driving licence, as well as paying charges of £521.
Annette Hall, mitigating, told presiding magistrate Mr Allen how Combes, 28, was left “dazed and in shock” following the collision in Blundeston, Suffolk on November 22 last year.
He left his Ford Fiesta at the scene of the crash in a “stunned” state, believing no one to be injured. He turned himself into the police the following day.
Ms Hall added: “He would like to apologise to the people in the other vehicle, and feels genuine remorse.”
Combes, of Burgh Castle, had previously admitted charges of driving without due care and attention, and failing to stop after a road accident.
