A horse that was attacked in a Great Yarmouth field and had the back of its hind legs cut is recovering from the ordeal.
Daisy Cullen found her 10-year old mare Ellie had suffered the gruesome injuries in her field at Humberstone Farm Equestrian Centre in Mill Road.
Ms Cullen discovered the injuries at about 4pm on Thursday, March 3.
She said Ellie is recovering well and has been put on what is called box rest for the foreseeable future by her loving owner.
Norfolk police have confirmed they are treating the incident at the field at the centre as a crime.
Martin Vincent, general manager of the Humberstone Farm Equestrian Centre, had said staff were sad and distressed by what had happened to Ellie and said he would support Ms Cullen.
Anyone with information on the attack on Ellie are asked to call Norfolk police on 101 and quote reference number 36/26257/18.
